Thomas Tuchel's plan to win the World Cup has been revealed – and it is more about high five than Achtervives.
The boss of New England has told his players that he has no time to introduce a visionary new tactics – but wants his team to become a 'brotherhood'.
And the German believes that body language is the key and claims that NBA outfits that perform the most high-fives with teammates will win earlier.
Newcastle -defender than Burn, who himself has the 6ft 7 -frame of a basketball player, is just as much in Tuchel's team for his strong character as his playing capacity.
And although Burns says: “I am not just here to be a cheerleader,” he clearly buys in the philosophy of Tuchel that Teambonding will play an important role during next year's tournament in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Burn, 32, said: “The manager had a meeting on Monday evening and said that we only have 24 training days until the World Cup, so it's not much at all.
“It will not be that he can really implement a strong way that he wants us to play, what time can take, it is more about how we treat each other and push each other. Not being afraid to speak if something is wrong.
“Especially when I was younger, I would struggle because you didn't want to disturb feathers.
“But I think you learn the best about each other – if something is wrong or you feel that you could push more, I think we should be if we want to achieve that ultimate goal to win the World Cup.”
Asked if he would be happy to try Jude Bellingham or Harry Kane as an international vegetable, Burn replied: “Absolutely. I have no problem with that!”
Tuchel has asked earlier tournament winners from other countries for insights into what a successful team makes, as well as studying sports such as basketball.
And Burn said: “There was more talk about 'Brotherhood' in that first meeting. It was more about mentality and how he wanted us to act around each other.
“He said he had spoken with players from earlier tournaments and from other countries about the difference between where they went in early rounds and what happened when they won it.
“And a lot of it was about interactions. The best teams in the NBA are normally the teams that get each other high-fiving, and have many of those interactions.
“We do a lot of it in Newcastle and talk about it, knowing that those things encourage people and keep the motivation levels high.
“Working among people such as Graham Potter and Eddie Howe, they often say in meetings, people don't want to speak because they find it a bit embarrassing.
“But I love the NFL and I feel that they are really good at that. If they feel that something is going to help the group, they will just get up and say that – and I think this is something that English football could probably learn.
“I feel that we learn the most about each other and as a team you come close together. If you do that, you take a risk and stand for people and speak and a little vulnerable.”
Burn enjoyed a dream week and scored the opener in the last victory of Sunday's Carabao Cup on Liverpool, only two days after receiving his first English call-up from Tuchel.
And the bruising defender admits that he should apologize with a few new teammates and said: “I absolutely beat Jarrod Bowen when we were with West Ham and immediately I started apologizing. I think it was a bit of red fog.”
Burn confesses that he has played his entire career with a 'chip on my shoulder, who wants to prove people wrong' after a career of UPS and Downs.
And he knows that his incorrect framework can make him the target for excessive criticism.
When Tuchel announced his team last Friday, he joked that “despite the fact that he was 6ft 7, Burn was easily overlooked.”
Burn said: “That made me laugh a bit, but it is probably the story of my career. Visual, on the field, when I make a mistake, I feel that it is probably enlarged by what it looks like. I was actually surprised how long the Gaffer is!”
Tuchel is 6ft 4in and he let Burning Foot feel for ten foot when they spoke to Facetime twice last week.
Burn said: “It started with the manager who facetimized me on Tuesday and said they debated and he had let us know on Thursday.
“Then it went six o'clock on Thursday evening and I had not heard anything, so I said to my wife:” Nothing is going to happen “. Then I got an SMS with the text” Are you still awake? ” at 10 p.m.
“He Facetimed, told us the good news and said that I was very unprofessional because I was not in bed at 10 am!
“He said he wanted me in the team and just to use what he felt that my strengths were.
“I thought I could offer as much off the field as it on it. I feel that I am a leader on and next to the field.
“I know it will be difficult to get here with all these international players, but that's how I feel that I can best help the team.”
