Arsenal keen on signing ex-Everton flop as they intensify striker search

Arsenal reportedly set their sights on a former Everton striker prior to the summer transfer window.

The Gunners did not succeed in adding a NO9 to their ranks in recent windows, where many fans believe that this has cost the club their chance to win the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta is expected to finally dive into the transfer market for a new striker this summer, and one potential goal seems to have already been identified.

According to the Italian outlet tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal is interested in signing Fiorentina Vooruit Moise Kean.

Kean, 25, has an earlier Premier League experience after Everton in 2019. In his only campaign in England, however, he saw only four goals score in 39 performances for the Toffees.

He then struggled to pedal at PSG and Juventus, but he found form in Fiorentina this season.

After coming to the club last summer for just under £ 11 million, Kean scored 18 goals in 32 outings in 2024-25.

He is in second place on the Serie A Top Scorer list with 15 goals this period, behind only Atalanta's Mateo Retegui (22).

Kean has a release clause of € 52 million (£ 44 million) in his contract that is valid during July.

Arsenal could be willing to match this figure and try to solve their problems early in the window in advance.

But they are not the only Premier League club that closely monitors Kean.

Newcastle and West Ham are said to weigh a potential movement, while Tottenham is linked to the Italian striker.

Newcastle is expected to resist Alexander Isak this summer, but could turn to Kean if the Swedish Talisman continues.

In the meantime, West Ham has struggled for goals under Graham Potter, and Spurs striker Dominic Solanke has missed large chunks of the current season due to an injury.
