Calafiori reveals the bizarre method Arteta used to convince him to sign

Mikel Arteta convinced one of the new signing sessions from Arsenal to join the club last summer with the help of a very bizarre method, it has been unveiled.

During his term of office as Arsenal manager, Arteta is known to implement unique or unorthodox strategies in an attempt to get the best out of his players, after he once hired Pickloppen to promote situational consciousness.

His bizarre methods also include bringing a dog called 'Win' in the training ground for Gunners and planting a 150-year-old olive tree to represent growth and resilience.

Although the Premier League title Arteta is still missing, the 42-year-old head coach has been sure to improve players since the start of his term of office in 2019 and it has also done an excellent job to convince top players to sign for the club and become a member of his Gunners project.

The signing of £ 42 million from last summer Riccardo Calafiori shared how Arteta succeeded in coming to the club last July from the Serie -Outfit Bologna.

When asked to explain why he came to Arsenal last summer, the defender told the Italian outlet Rivista Undici e Cronache: 'The first thing that comes to mind is the organization. How much they care about each player from every point of view, both on the field and especially outside the field.

'As far as Arteta is concerned, I was immediately struck by how much he gave me to get to know me. One day on the phone he sent me some pictures of my family and asked me to say what every member of the family meant for me.

“Nothing like this had ever happened to me before, I am not saying that he only convinced me with this, but it certainly represented an important moment.”

Although Calafiori has passed a season somewhat destroyed by injuries, the left back has still played a key role for Arsenal in 26 games in all competitions, in which the position was shared with breakthrough star Lewis-Skelly and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The highlight of Calafiori of the season came when he scored a wonderful equalizer against Manchester City, which helped the Gunners to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad.

Despite the fact that he was mainly told at the left, the Italian was brought in as a versatile defender to operate in the middle of half.

The 22-year-old praised on Arteta to help develop his game, together with Italy manager Luciano Spalletti and his old Bologna boss Thiago Motta.

He added: 'Thiago Motta and then Spalletti and Arteta have changed me a lot, in terms of vision on the game, spaces to occupy, everything.

'But I also think there are many defenders with better characteristics than me, that's why I work so much off the field and maybe that makes the difference.

'There are many things that I still don't know how to do. Among this is the desire to learn to play in as many roles as possible.

'For now I feel that I know how to play two, I would also like to learn a third: midfielder. It is a role that has always fascinated me. '
