Liverpool signing takes aim at Vinicius Jr after making bet with Real Madrid star

Liverpool will welcome goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili in the summer and the Georgian will hope to arrive in Anfield with his bank balance strengthened after a bet with Real Madrid star Vinicius JR

Incoming Liverpool -star Giorgi Mhaldashvili has asked Vinicius JR to cough it up after winning a bet against the Real Madrid star. The goalkeeper was part of the Valencia side to seal a dramatic victory over the Spanish giants at the weekend.

Mouctar Diakhaby had given the Bernabeu's Mhadardashviili side, only for Vinicius to make it right. Hugo Duro scored deep in the stopping time to close a dramatic victory.

Mhamardashvili played a key role after storing a penalty from the Brazilian Wideman for the opener of Valencia. And he has revealed that a bet – which was banned in La Liga – apparently agreed between the two prior to the Spotkick, although the Madrid star still has to pay.

Speaking with reporters, he said: “I had a conversation with Vinicius and I won € 50. I asked him if he wanted to bet € 50, and he said 'yes'. And I won. He would have to pay me, but he doesn't have that yet.”

Of course Vinicius still thought it was just when he attracted level with Countryman and former striker Ronaldo in the club's target groups. And shortly thereafter he went to social media with his thoughts.

He wrote: “A special day. It is an honor to have scored as many goals as my idol. I arrived here as a child and he showed me the way. A bad game, but we know where to improve. Madrid never gives up. See you in London.”

Back to Mamardashvili, his penalty rescue comes less than a month after his personal form was questioned after a series of mistakes. And he went to Instagram and promised that he would be back to his best later instead of being back.

“I know that I am not at my best moment now, but I am convinced that challenges make us stronger,” wrote Mamaardashvili on Instagram. “I do my best to be the best version of me as soon as possible. Thank you very much, Mestalla, for the support!”

Mamaardashvili will be back in action next Friday, while Valencia will take on Sevilla in La Liga. The club is currently 15th in the La Liga table and seven points free from the relegation zone after a series of only one defeat in their last eight league games. The Georgian will officially move to Anfield at the end of the season after he has agreed a £ 34 million switch.

Elsewhere, the next assignment by Vinicius JR sees him against Arsenal in the Champions League – The first stage of their quarter -final meeting will take place on Tuesday evening in the Emirates.
