Musiala to miss Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final through injury

Jamal Musiala will miss next week's champions league against Inter and will be out of an indefinite period after a hamstring injury.

Musiala, who scored Bayern's equalizer in their 3-1 Bundesliga victory on Augsburg on Friday, was forced in the 54th minute of the game.

He is the newest player to be added to the Vincent Kompany injury list in recent weeks, after Defenders Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito, as well as goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

This season, Musiala has made 40 performances for Bayern in all competitions, with 33 of those competitions, and is their second highest scorer with 18 goals (Harry Kane Top with 34).

He also registered five assists, while only Joshua Kimmich (112) and Michael Olise (82) have created more opportunities than his 73.

“FC Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala for the time being,” said the club.

“After a scan of the medical team of the German record champions, it was confirmed that the 22-year-old attacker suffered a muscle crack in his left hamstring during the 3-1 victory in FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday evening.”

Bayern has an advantage of six points compared to the second place Bayer Leverkusen in the title race. They also organize Italy Inter in the first stage of their Champions League quart final on Tuesday.
