Real Madrid concerned by Kylian Mbappe form but feel it is low on list of priorities

Real Madrid looked set to dominate in Spain this season, after a double in the Champions League and Liga, with Kylian Mbappé added to that squad. However, things have not gone to plan and the Frenchman is under increasing pressure to turn the tide.

Mbappe has scored nine goals in 18 games this season, but his missed penalty against Liverpool, combined with a steady decline in his performances of late, has all eyes on him. While Real Madrid are concerned about his poor form, Marca says it is far from their biggest concern at the moment. Internally, the constant injuries, the lack of a clear idea on the pitch and their position in the Champions League.

Since his arrival, Carlo Ancelotti has tried to move him into the ninth position until last weekend, but his move to his more favored position on the left has not been rewarded with a major improvement. Although he looked freer against Leganes, he was not up to the task against Liverpool, even though Real Madrid were outscored as a whole. Likewise, Mbappe has failed to guide Los Blancos through adversity this season.
