Man Utd star rang Paul Scholes and tried to confront him on training ground over pundit’s criticism

A Manchester United -star Rank Paul Scholes and tried to confront him on the training field with his negative TV comments.

Scholes, 50, is not afraid to speak his opinion in his role about the overlapping Fandebat and as an expert for TNT sports.

But his criticism came under the skin of an irrited Red Devils Squad member.

Asked if players respond to comments from experts, Scholes revealed about the overlapping Fandebat via Sky Bet A nameless United Man took matters into their own hands.

He said: “Nowadays players can be a bit sensitive.

“This year I had a player who contacted me and was not happy with some things I had said.

“He wanted to meet me on the training field.

“I said,” Of course no problem, “and gave him my number, but he never came back to me.

“I would have done it. If I say things I believe and he wants me to explain why, it would not have been a nice conversation.

“But I said that if they or someone else have a problem, there is my telephone number.”

Scholes refused to reveal the name of the individual in question in what another disappointing campaign has been for his former club – under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.

But he thinks that criticism from the media and former players is part of life as a professional football player.

However, the United Legend believes that players should be able to brush the reactions – although that is easier said than done.

Scholes added: “What we say as experts are not allowed to influence a player.

“The only people who have to influence the players is what the manager thinks, the coaching staff and their teammates.

“What is said on TV must be taken with a pinch of salt.

“I'm not even sure how many players nowadays watch football and see what we say.

“There was a United player who clearly took a little offense to what I said, but you just deal with it.

“If things need a statement or a meeting through tea or coffee, I would like to give it.

“I now only do Punditry for Manchester United games.

“I rarely do other games because I want to watch United and I want to be with the United Games.

“Since I started doing it, the performances were not great.

“I don't think I've seen them win for a long time and you look terrible to try your club if that's the club for which you played 20 years – it's the last thing you want.

“It would be so easy if you were a player in Manchester City for the past ten years.

“Where we are now, make you look like a bit of a villain.”

Jamie Carragher then opened because he was called by Daniel Sturridge to tell Liverpool to sell the attacker.

The Sky Pundit said: “It was Daniel Sturridge.

“You wouldn't believe this, but when I stopped playing for a few years, Liverpool asked me and Steven Gerrard to put an end to the season in Australia.

“Liverpool could not sold the tickets to fill this stadium in Australia, so they asked me, Stevie and Steve McManaman to play with the team.

“I said they had to sell Daniel Sturridge, and he confronted me in the dressing room when we arrived there.

“And I thought:” Fair Play, good for you. '

“There is nothing worse than someone who goes back, so I didn't.

“Sometimes, if I was a player with a journalist, I might say something and they would go back and say sorry, but no, just in front.”
