Lyon set for record attendance against Manchester United

The CEO of Olympique Lyonnais, Laurent Prud'homme, has announced that the UEFA Europa League meeting with Manchester United will break the current attendance record in the Groupama Stadium.

Lyon organizes Manchester United in the first stage of the Europa League Quarterfinal. In anticipation of the meeting, Prud'homme revealed on Radio Scoop, that the current attendance record, returned in February 2019, when Les Gones was confronted with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League (57,889 spectators present), must be broken.

The CEO of Ol told the radio station on Wednesday that there will be more than 58,000 fans present at the Groupama Stadium, which was opened in 2016.

As noted by L'équipe, there has been a larger crowd in the Groupama Stadium, although that was for a non-sporting event. In June 2022, 72,561 people attended an Indchine concert at the Groupama Stadium. On Thursday, however, the record rise for a sporting event will be broken at Ol's Stadium.
