Man Utd ‘contact Brighton over Verbruggen with Onana’s position at risk’

Manchester United is said to see Bart Verbruggen as a replacement for Andre Onana.

Since his arrival of Ajax in the summer of 2023, Onana has made a series of looks and has branded one of the worst united keepers in history by a former player.

New Red Devils Gaffer Ruben Amorim would be concerned about Onana's inconsistency between the sticks and weighs a new stop in the summer.

And according to reports, he would like to bring Brighton's Verbruggen to Old Trafford.

According to Gazetta Dello Sport, who claims United has contacted the Meeuwen about the availability of the Dutchman.

However, United will be confronted with fierce competition for the services of the 22-year-old.

German giants Bayern Munich reportedly want to sign him.

The Telegraph claims that the Bundesliga Big Boys weigh an attempt to bring the £ 60 million stopper to the Allianz Arena.

This season, Verbruggen has made 33 performances for Brighton in all competitions, which keeps eight clean sheets in the process.

However, the statistics below show that he has a lower savings percentage than Onana and has made more mistakes that have led to goals.

Brighton is the ninth in the Premier League table and six points at a Europa League place.

Verbruggen missed the first two league matches of Brighton of the season, but played an important role in the seagulls that are in European position.

He said he was the club's no1 keeper in an interview with the BBC: “I love it.

“Everyone wants to play every game – the same applies to me.

“I really love playing every game and developing and helping the team.

“We have a very strong team, with many good attacking and defensive options – that is a great power of us.

“I am really happy to be part of it and there are great things about it.”

Sun Sport only revealed that United has set up two other keepers, with Onana possibly going to Saudi Arabia.

Brighton will be back in action on Saturday and welcomes Leicester at the Amex, while United travels to Newcastle on Sunday.
