Barcelona has had a sensational season so far, and they are currently well placed to secure a historic Treble from La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
They are in a strong position in the last competition after their 4-0 quarter-final first leg victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company. And on the back of this they received more compliments, with head coach Hansi Flick particularly focused.
Flick has praised the playing style that he has implemented in Barcelona this season, and according to the German football icon Lothar Matthaus (via MD), the former Bayern manager can have a very strong impact during his time in Catalonia.
“An era like the only thing that Barcelona has already experienced can start. They can take a dominant position in Europe. Hansi Flick represents the style that Barcelona has already made famous. He has always played attractive football, it is impressive.”
Barcelona is certainly well set up for long-term success, given how young their first team team is and also the fact that they also have much more exciting young players to make the leap to the senior team. And Flick will like to keep the good times in the club.
There is absolutely no doubt that it is currently a very exciting time for Barcelona and their supporters, and much of it is because of the impact that Flick made since his arrival last summer. He has the best of players such as Raphinha and Pedri, while Robert Lewandowski has looked back at his productive best after a relatively quiet 2023-24 campaign. And also with Lamine Yamal there are certainly opportunities for the Catalan side to leave their mark on Europe for years to come.
