Manchester United investigates allegations that fans were received by the French police on Thursday evening by the French police during their Europa League-equal game in Lyon.
A number of supporters accused the police of trading in a harsh way while trying to go to the toilet after the 2-2 draw of United at the Groupama Stadium. It is understood that United tries to collect the facts to get a clearer picture of what happened.
Football supporters Europe have touched the behavior of the police and executive director Ronan Evain said: 'It is completely unacceptable that the police are fine to prevent people from going to the toilets, and then the reaction is completely disproportionate.
'It is human nature that people will lose their patience if the police remove basic elements of basic human dignity, such as allowed to go to the toilet.
'There the police are responsible for creating this tension, for escalating and instead of making the only logical decision in this situation, namely allowing people to go to the toilet, even if they are only small groups.
“That they choose to escalate this even further can be justified.”
United fans were kept late in the stadium – because fans are often in Europe.
But the problems would have increased for United fans when a supporter shared a video after the game of a number of fans who covered their nose, and claimed that 'everyone' was fed into the ground.
A video shared by @Jaydeblanc on X received thousands of views and was removed in the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
United fans formed 3,000 of the 59,000-capacity stadium, and many were seen with their shirts about their faces after the full-time whistle.
“Everyone was shot here,” a supporter in the video could say. 'What is hell here?
“How can they use the F *** ING Hell tears during a football match?”
Another could be heard: “That is what we get as United fans.”
While the camera came around, more and more supporters could be seen who covered their nose and mouths as the first fan added: 'Look at this, this is disgusting. People here are sick, f *** ing hell. '
Coughing could also be heard in the background of the video, where other fans on social media also suggest that large parts of fans were affected.
As the video progressed, supporters could also be seen who in their eyes rub, cover their faces and Booen. It was said on social media that fans were warned for an hour with full access to facilities before the police delivered the toilets and the time and sprayed behind riot shields.
The alleged incident concluded a tough journey for United Supporters, with every traveling fan the assignment to collect a stadium spire from the EUREXPO Conference Center-accident 10 km away from Lyon's Groupama Stadium-between intersection and kick-off.
The Lyon metro system also failed before it started, and conveyors were forced to quickly put on replacement buses to get fans to the competition on time.
The French police and Manchester United were both contacted by Mail Sport for comment. United investigates the business, while a non-club-related fan page has asked for feedback for fans who attended the game.
