Fan spots DEAD RAT in puddle under Old Trafford seat

A dead rat was spotted at Old Trafford last night during the match between Manchester United and Bodo/Glimt, a fan has claimed on social media.

The Red Devils hosted the Norwegian side in what was new boss Ruben Amorim's first home game in charge.

Club chiefs recently faced a backlash from fans after it was confirmed that ticket prices would rise to a minimum of £66 for members regardless of age.

And during last night's match, a social media user claimed a 'dead animal' had appeared under their seat.

Man Utd have had to deal with rainwater seeping through the roof of Old Trafford several times in recent seasons.

The social media user, named Connor Lomas, posted a photo last night that appeared to have been taken under his seat.

It showed a soaking wet floor, where a dead rat appeared to lie.

Lomas tagged several fan accounts and posted: “#mufc lets anyone into Old Trafford for £66, including dead animals apparently. Block N3401.”

The image has been viewed more than 300,000 times on social media.

A Man Utd spokesperson acknowledged the photo when SunSport reached out to the club for comment.

The club insists they undergo regular pest control inspections, but the stadium's location next to a railway line and canal, and the cold weather, can allow pests to enter buildings.

A mouse was also spotted on the pitch during last night's match.

Since buying a minority stake in the club earlier this year, Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has started improving the Red Devils' home ground.

It is currently being assessed whether the club would be better off upgrading Old Trafford at a significant cost, or building a new stadium from scratch.

Man Utd's chiefs have polled supporters about which option they would prefer.

Of the 50,000 respondents, 52 percent claimed to be open to new construction, with 31 percent in favor of a redevelopment of Old Trafford and 17 percent unsure.

A decision on the project, which could cost up to £2 billion, is expected to be made in early 2025.
