Real Madrid reveal Trent Alexander-Arnold plan to Liverpool chiefs

Real Madrid have reportedly made a major move in their search for Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold is carefully considering his options, with the Reds offering a five-year extension to his current contract.

The England international is out of contract at the end of the 2024/2025 season and no progress has been made on a deal at this stage.

Confidence is high in Madrid and Merseyside over their ability to convince the 26-year-old to accept their rival offers.

According to reports from Talksport, Real Madrid want to maintain a respectful relationship with Liverpool and have formally informed the Premier League leaders of their incoming bid for the defender.

Alexander-Arnold could open free transfer talks in January if he wants to explore an exit as the saga continues.

No update is expected from either club until the end of December, while talks are also underway over deals for Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk.
