So far, Lopes has had a remarkable journey in the UFC that has suffered two losses on his late notification UFC debut and in his appearance on the Contender Series of Dana White.
However, with a five-fighter-winning series under his belt, he had an unstoppable confidence prior to the greatest fight of his career to date against a legend of the division in Alexander Volkanovski.
The rising star was surrounded by positivity when he went his way to the Arena and was warmed up with some dancing before he prepared to walk in the Kaseya center with a smile on his face.
Cameras cut out Lopes immediately and walked to his return to the Backstage area after they have lost a unanimous decision after a fight of the night match.
A disappointed Lopes was comforted by his team while he is sitting in the dressing room with emotion that flowed out of him after this enormous chance slid through his hands.
The video is a great document from the roller coaster of emotions that hunters go through when they put it all on the line to compete at the highest level.
With his team behind him, Lopes stuff himself after he looked at his mirror in the mirror before he gets ready to leave the Arena and continue to the next phase of his career.

Diego Lopes may have fallen short of the main event, but he was able to answer some questions that fans had before his first title fight.
He proved that he can fight for five rounds at a more measured pace without ever slowing down in an important way, he was simply defeated by the better man on April 12.
In just his seventh performance in the Octagon, the 30-year-old five rounds went with one of the greats of all time and this experience will only benefit him in the long term.
Lopes is still one of the best contenders in the featherweight division and he will certainly be back in the mix in the near future as soon as he has had some time to heal.
