Hector Fort remains one of the promising long -term betting of Barcelona. The 18-year-old full-back, who extended his contract in May to 2029, continues to train regularly with the first team under Hansi Flick and plays squadrons in Matchday.
His actual playing time, however, was scarce. The right back has made 13 gigs this season, only two as a starter, a total of 362 minutes, even less than the 566 he logged under Xavi last season.
Although this is technically his second year with the involvement of the first team, his role remains unclear and his presence on the field is still limited.
No departure search
Despite the situation, Hector Fort does not intend to leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window, reports journalist Xavi Espinosa.
Offers have arrived from elsewhere – teams who want to give him the playing time he is looking for – but Fort remains firm in his attitude.
“He is very happy in the club. It is the club of his life and he knows how happy he is to be eligible for the first team. Signing that renewal last summer was a dream for him,” Sources Said close to the player.
In January, Fort received an offer of € 8 million from Serie A Side Como. Both the player and the club have rejected the deal.
The right side of the teenager also does not want a loan movement. Instead, his desire to break through in Barcelona is, even though it is the least used player by Flick, apart from Ansu Fati and those who put offside with injury.
The future remains Limbo
It should be noted that the position of Fort is further threatened because of Barcelona's intention to sign a new right back this summer.
The Catalan giants regard the role as a priority for reinforcement, and if a new signing arrives, this would further block the path of the Academy Graduate to regular minutes.
As such, the sports department of Deco and Barcelona must decide the future of Fort this summer. While the club greatly appreciates him, the search for a new right back and the form of Jules Kounde means that securing regular minutes will be a big challenge.
For the time being, however, Fort will continue to work for Barcelona.
