Vincent Kompany says that Bayern Munich is ready to show “How good we are” by bouncing back from their Champions League exit to Inter.
Bayern crashed in the quarterfinals on Wednesday after playing a 2-2 draw at San Siro in the second stage, because they were unable to destroy the first leg deficiency and lose 4-3.
While their hope for recording the European trophy is over, Bayern is still in a strong position to win the Bundesliga, whereby the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER gives them a chance of 98.7% to conquer the title.
They have a six -point lead on Bayer Leverkusen at the top of the competition with five more games left, and Heidenheim is the following for the leaders.
Bayern lost their very first Bundesliga match in Heidenheim 3-2 after leading 2-0 last season-the last team where they lost their first two top matches against Freiburg in 1993 and 1994.
Bayern has only lost two of their first 29 Bundesliga matches this season (W21 D6), however, a first for them since 2016-17 under Carlo Ancelotti.
They have already demanded more points from home (31) this season than in the entire 2023-24 (29).
Kompany is convinced that his side can quickly put the result of Wednesday behind by hitting their attention on the title race.
“We want to use everything we can use, so that we are better in the next game,” said Kompany.
“I am very motivated and hungry by nature. I don't need much to be back with full energy the next day.
“It is best that we play so quickly again. The absolute priority is what we will do against Heidenheim in the next 90 minutes.”
Kompany also confirmed that Bayern is still without goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who is still looking out with a calf injury despite traveling with the team to Inter in Midweek.
Bayern already has a long list of injured players, including midfielder Jamal Musiala, Defenders Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito and Sven Ulreich.
And they were given another blow for their meeting with Heidenheim, with Leon Goretzka who would miss the game with a calf injury he picked up in the training.
“Leon Goretzka will be out of the match against Heidenheim after storing a calf injury,” Bayern said in a statement.
