Napoli Only Trail Serie A -Leiders Inter Milan with only three points in the title race, but they first focus on beating a Champions League place after missing last season according to Antonio Conte.
After having won their first Scudetto in 33 years in the 2022-23 season, the Partonopei ended the following year in the Serie A.
That dip led to a switch from head coach, where Conte came in. He helped the club to rediscover their old form, to go with six games, he warned that no one should walk for themselves.
“First of all we have to earn a place in the Champions League. Beyond everything else we will get the chance to get closer to a prestigious goal that could not be foreseen at the beginning of the year,” he said prior to their competition in Monza on Saturday.
“But we said it, we are there. We will clearly try to make as many problems as possible until the end … We do something that goes beyond what happened last year.
“We have to keep feeding it [our dream] With all our strength … It has not been easy so far and there will be other obstacles to overcome. We will have to be as good as we have been so far, without apologies. “
Despite the fact that Monza has won only one of their last 25 league games from Bottom-of-the League, Napoli's way has been delivered to win none of their last five on the road.
Napoli has signed four of those five games and lost 2-1 at Como-Hun Longest Run without an extraction since the 2009-10 season.
But because Monza has lost 21 of their 32 league matches this season, including a competition high 10 of 16 at home, there is a chance for Napoli to end their road blues.
Only six teams in the Serie A history have since lost more than 21 games in a season, and none since the 2021-22 campaign.
“These are irrefutable facts, then the fact that we are second is three points behind Inter. Even if we have not won a while, we have not lost long, only in Como,” said Conte.
“We have many points, and we are second, the result of consistency at home and gone. Then we can perhaps distribute the periods, but the regularity is there and only in this way we can achieve the objectives.
“We don't win away from home, and we would like to start winning again. This is always our goal.”
