Man City eye £63m Ederson replacement after injury-hit season

Manchester City is reportedly looking at a replacement of £ 63 million valued for Edersonon after Pep Guardiola No 1 was wounded again last week.

The Brazilian international could be confronted on the sidelines for weeks after he bumped over 15 minutes after his long pass from Crystal Palace's 5-2 victory.

Ederson was plagued this season due to four different injuries – mainly lies problems – serious enough to prevent him from fully training for most of the campaign.

The 31-year-old, who weighed that the city would leave for the Saudi-Pro League last summer, has undergone tests to determine the prognosis.

Now City has drawn their attention to another Portuguese-speaking Shot stopper, because they have performed their interest in Porto's Diogo Costa, according to the Mirror.

Costa has a release clause of £ 63 million in his contract, which ends in June 2027.

However, the incoming football director of City – Hugo Viana – is supposed to have a strong relationship with the agent of the 25 -year -old, Jorge Mendes.

And Viana, who is starting his work in the Etihad this summer, is hopeful that an offer of around £ 50 million could get a deal for Costa over the line.

Ederson is still dedicated to the cause of the city and has expressed his wish to bring Guardiola's side back to the top after a non -characterically difficult season.

“It has been a very unusual season, especially given everything we have produced in recent years, things that are not normal either,” Ederson told ESPN Brazil.

“But this season was very, very difficult. Many injuries, individual performance not good. But that is football, you can't always give your best.

'If we were at our best, we would certainly fight for the Premier League title. Our main goal is to qualify for the Champions League because the players win next season, the club wins, everyone wins.

'More money for the club, more prestige to play this competition. It would be a big blow if we were not eligible. '
