Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Brazilian striker Rodrygo Goes will be fit again for their La Liga match against Getafe on Sunday. The Italian coach was optimistic about the injury situation and felt they would soon have some key players back.
Ancelotti confirmed the Brazilian would return to action as the games pile up. Rodrygo has missed four of Los Blancos' last five games due to hamstring problems. He returned briefly against Osasuna, but was again forced out.
“The World Cup, the Super Cup are here… and above all, the injured players are returning. Rodrygo will be back tomorrow, Tchouameni the next match, Alaba will be back soon, Camavinga will return soon… We have to get through this moment with a good attitude and dedication, because good things are still to come.”
Tchouameni has also been out of the last three games due to an ankle sprain, but looks set to return to Bilbao next week when Los Blancos travel to Athletic Club. There has been no shortage of talk about whether Real Madrid will enter the transfer market this winter, a question dismissed by Ancelotti.
“Because I think it's a waste of time to think about signing players now. We have forty days to think about it. Things can change. Alaba is doing very well and will be back soon. We need to evaluate these things, which are priorities.”
While there is no shortage of problems at the Santiago Bernabeu, Ancelotti said he had noticed a change in his squad recently.
It may be that we lacked some effectiveness in some matches, especially in matches without many chances. Some effectiveness is lacking. In Liverpool, more chances could have been created with more accuracy in transition. But the basis is attitude and defense. And we're starting to defend the way we need to.”
