Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that he and his players can use their victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League to guarantee a consistent end of their Premier League campaign.
The Gunners travel to the wrestling city of Ipswich on Sunday, after they have defeated the Champions League holders with 2-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu in midweek, who seal a 5-1 total victory and a place in the semi-final.
But Arsenal is 13 points behind the run -away Premier League leaders Liverpool.
A victory for the Gunners would mean that Liverpool cannot win the title on Sunday, although Ipswich, whose survival hopes quickly fades, triumph, then the Reds can do the job by beating Leicester City.
And Arteta has now demanded consistency in the top flight.
“We celebrated for a short period. It was a great evening, we had a lot of family and good lucky faces in the club,” he told reporters.
“It was a good time, but immediately you have to change it and it is Ipswich in the Premier League.
“It showed that we can compete against every opposition in every context. Now the next step is consistency.”
Ipswich realistically needs a victory to make every chance to stay up.
“I understand where they are right now and they play at home,” said Arteta.
“For us it is a big game, we have to start winning matches in the Premier League to at least keep the position in which we are and to push the last few games with strong hope.
'They are a really well -organized team. Wat Kieran [McKenna] And the staff has done remarkably. You see the amount of problems they give to the opposition every week, so we expect a difficult game. “
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna was not in the mood to throw in the towel and suggested that his players were able to get a result despite their competition position.
“We believe in ourselves and we believe that if we perform every part of our game right away, we have a chance and we can even compete with the best,” he said.
“If we all do that, and it's our day, then there is a chance that we can get it on Sunday.”
