‘I was wrong’… Dana White makes surprising admission about Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson

Dana White has confessed that he was completely wrong about the successful boxing fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

The martial arts stars went head-to-head on Friday night, with 'The Problem Child' earning a unanimous victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.

On a night that will go down in combat sports history, Jake Paul defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson in one of the most bizarre matches of all time.

During the first two rounds, the boxing legend showed flashes of brilliance, fooling his rival with his signature peek-a-boo style, landing a stiff jab and a powerful right hand.

However, as most suspected, after the first part of the fight came to an end, 'Iron Mike' got tired and Paul was able to dominate the rest of the match.

But much to the fans' relief, Tyson went the distance and grabbed every shot his younger opponent threw at him.

Going into the match, many were concerned that the once great fighter would lose brutally to a man who probably wouldn't have lasted a round with him in his prime.

One of those who feared this scenario was Dana White.

At the UFC 309 post-fight press conference, the UFC CEO said: “Mike Tyson was right and I was wrong.

“I said to him, 'Mike, you're actually 60 years old.' He says, 'Do you really think this damn kid is going to hurt me? He's not well. He's not going to knock me out.”

“He tripped walking off the thing, he had trouble walking up the stairs, he had a knee brace on and Jake Paul couldn't do anything to him.

“When Mike Tyson shows up, everyone makes money. I don't need to tell you that Mike Tyson was the A++++ side of this.

'He was right. Jake Paul couldn't do anything to him.”

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have been banned from boxing

After their eight-round clash concluded, both Paul and Tyson expressed their desire to continue their boxing careers.

However, it looks like they'll have to wait before stepping foot in the ring again.

The pair have been banned from the sport, with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation revealing for how long.
