UFC Fan Favorite Derrick Lewis blamed Bruce Buffer for a slow start of his debut.
UFC Knockout leader of all time Derrick Lewis's first appearance in the Octagon contained one of his characteristic interview moments after the fight, but not in the way that expected the most.
Lewis was confronted with 6'8 ″ Kolos Jack May in his long -awaited UFC debut in April 2014 in Orlando. After nine wins to start his professional MMA career, Lewis finally received the call to take his first walk to the UFC Octagon and made the best of his chance.
But Lewis had to overcome a lot of adversity in the opening minutes by May.

The first interview by Derrick Lewis was as hilarious as you would expect
Lewis did not waste time in Bull-Rushing May with a large removal in the first seconds of the fight. But May was able to work out well and landed a number of large bombs on Lewis on the ground.
After recovering the top position in the opening minute, Lewis donated it and let a series of devastating ground and pound strikes off if it can be covered. Lewis then won by TKO in the last seconds of the first round for what his first of many UFC Ko victories would be.
In addition to his ridiculous knockout power, Lewis is known that he has some quotable moments in his interviews after the fight. His first chat after the fight with Joe Rogan did not disappoint.
'[Bruce] Asleep me! So I had to wake up! “Lewis said.” Bruce Buffer for the first time! “
Fortunately, since his UFC debut, Lewis has not slept asleep by Buffer. He has become one of the greatest stars of the UFC and is on top of the knockout list of the promotion of all time.
Derrick Lewis will be confronted with the highest hunter of UFC for Octagon Return
Lewis will experience another giant for his upcoming Octagon Return later this year. As reported for the first time by journalist Laerte Viana, Lewis will be confronted with 6'7 ″ Tallison Teixeira at an event of 12 July focused on Nashville, Tennessee.
Lewis had to return to UFC Edmonton just a few months ago before he canceled in hours due to an illness. His originally planned opponent, Jhonata Diniz, was later rewarded with a booking at UFC 309.
At the moment Teixeira is the highest hunter on the UFC selection, but is an inch larger than Lewis's UFC debut opponent from 2014. Teixeira is undefeated in his career with five consecutive first round knockout victories.
Lewis has not fought anymore since he has expanded his Ko -record against Rodrigo Nascimento in UFC St. Louis last year. He is looking to return to the heavyweight title mix after a recent losing skid.
