Saudi Aarabia will again be looking for star power this summer to add credit to their international brand, and after missing Mohamed Salah will undoubtedly still be looking for a tent that signs. Barcelona is probably again needed to balance their bills somewhat, especially if they want to strengthen their team because of their problems with the salary limit.
According to Sport, four stars from Barcelona are in Saudi Arabia to become important signing sessions. Al-Hilal is the Saudi giant who is most desperate to bring in a star name after losing Neymar Junior in January, and they approached Raphinha the last summer too, but were met with a rejection. That probably seems to be the case again, although the Blaugrana has established an asking price for the Brazilian. There are currently conversations about innovation, but there are differences about the length of the deal and the numbers.
In the meantime, Al-Nassr is looking for central defenders, a position where Barcelona is well filled. They would be interested in Jules Kounde or Ronald Araujo, even if Barcelona wanted to release Andreas Christensen this summer. Araujo has a release clause of € 65 million, but Barcelona's answer, as is the case with Raphinha, is 'no – for now'. Saudi delegates have traveled to Barcelona in recent days to inquire about possible deals.
Finally, Al-Eittihad remains interested in Frenkie de Jong. He also has a difficult contract negotiation with Barcelona that arrives in the coming months, but has been reportedly rejected an offer from Saudi Arabia lately and is aimed at staying in Barcelona.
In all these cases, including those of Christensen, the question for Barcelona and Saudi Arabia will be or the player can be convinced to leave a side competing with the Champions League to go to the middle -east. At the time of writing it looks unlikely, but again, Barcelona goes into the summer, knowing that a big sale can be very favorable for their accounts.
