Victor Lindelöf forced to leave Man United-Lyon following family emergency

Victor Lindelöf was replaced early on Thursday in the victory of Manchester United on Olympique Lyonna after the defender received news about an emergency situation. His wife, Maja, went to social media to explain that the middle of the game was hurried after he was told that his three -year -old son had been involved in an accident.

Maja said that their child “had fallen into a glass staircase” and “opened his entire head” while he was chasing his big brother. She added: “He had to undergo plastic surgery to put his forehead back together. He was put under anesthesia.” However, a tragedy was avoided and she explains that their child recovers well. Maja explains: “The doctors say he will have a large scar on his forehead,” but apart from that their son will be fine.

Lindelöf's teammate Noussair Mazraoui had to leave the Europa League quarter final against Lyon in the same way, and also for personal reasons. Manchester United eliminated the Ligue side of the competition. The two clubs needed extra time to arrange the match with the 5-4 score on the night (7-6 on aggregated).

Manchester United is going on against Athletic Club in the coming semi -final.
