Man United beat off competition to reach ‘basic agreement’ to sign £63m Osimhen

Manchester United has reportedly choked a large number of European giants to secure the signature of highly sought after Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

According to reports in Italy, they have reached a 'basic agreement' with the entourage of the Star Striker for his salary conditions.

The 26-year-old Galatasaray striker, currently on loan from Napoli, has a release clause of £ 63 million available for non-Italian clubs.

Ruben Amorim will want to sign another striker to strengthen their attacking ranks with Rasmus Hojlund who has difficulty fulfilling his price tag of £ 72 million.

The 22-year-old, who criticized Wolves on Sunday after his performance, only scored three Premier League goals in 28 performances this season.

A swap deal, who would see the Dane moving to Naples moving, would make the deal more likely, Tuttosport said.

Osimhen is one of the most popular attackers in Europe and is also connected to Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona.

This season he achieved an impressive 29 goals in 34 games, including 21 in the Turkish Super Lig.

He scored 31 goals in all competitions when he fired Napoli on a first Serie A title in 33 years in the 2022-23 season.

However, he was forced to desperately look for a new club in last summer's transfer star after Napoli boss Antonio had signed Conte Romelu Lukaku and had left Osimhen out of the team.

Despite rumors about moving to Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and a large number of Saudi Arab parties, there is no permanent movement on the move.

The Nigerian International, who has scored 26 times in 40 performances for the Super Eagles, will expire its current contract with Napoli at the end of the following season.

Although Galatasaray would like to try to preserve Osimhen, it is seen as unlikely that they can conquer one of Europe's most sought after strikers in its prime.

“Osimhen will announce his decision in April,” said the vice-president of the club, Abdullah Kavukcu, according to Sportmediaset.

'At the moment, five of the top clubs in the world are interested in him. His arrival here was a dream – he came and for now he plays with us.

“There was a transfer in January, but he stayed. He loves Galatasaray a lot. At the moment he is the dream of all our rivals.

'Although we are focused on winning the title, we have not yet had direct discussions with Victor. It makes no sense to talk about it now.

'Galatasaray is a club at top level-as it was not, Victor would not have come. His stay in Galatasaray is not as impossible as it seems. '

Meanwhile, last summer, Chelsea Legends tried to convince John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba to move to Stamford Bridge.

'I hope that Chelsea fans will finally see him come to the club. I will ensure that I send him those SMS messages and calls, and make sure that Chelsea is his top priority, “Mikel said.

“But it seems that he loves the club and wants to come to Chelsea. I'm sure he has all the big clubs who want to sign him. I think if we can secure his signature, this would be fantastic for the club.

'Didier also speaks to him, shares his own ideas and what the club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club. When it happens, it happens. It is a huge transfer costs, but if we can match it and bring it to the club, that would be absolutely fantastic. '
