Real Madrid managerial target rules out replacing Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid is perhaps looking for a new manager this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti reportedly opposite the bag in the Santiago Bernabeu after a desperate disappointing season so far. They have already failed in their attempt to defend the Champions League title they won 10 months ago, and at this stage they can also be losing on course in La Liga on Bitter Rivals Barcelona.

Ancelotti is safe for now. Real Madrid has to make another decision whether he will be dismissed a year before the expiry of his contract, whereby that call will be made once the season has ended. But that did not stop that countless managers are linked to the post, and one of them was Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp, who has been working as head of Global Soccer at the Red Bull Football Group since the start of the calendar year, has been out of management at the end of the 2023-24 campaign since leaving Liverpool. But although he has people in Real Madrid who are open to his arrival, the man himself is not considering it.

As reported by De Telegraaf (via Diario AS), Klopp has excluded a move to Real Madrid this summer, because he is not considering a return to the Dugout until the summer of 2026 at the earliest – and there are opportunities that he will not return to management at all.

The silver lining for Real Madrid is that Klopp was not their leading management candidate – that remains Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso. But at this stage it is difficult to say whether he will make his return to the Bernabeu, where he spent several years as a player.
