Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold seems to get up to leave Anfield for Real Madrid at the end of his contract, but Mohamed Salah has gave Reds fans some late hope for a U-turn
Fans of Liverpool are convinced that Trent Alexander-Arnold will stay in Anfield after the selfie gesture of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian attacker has developed a habit during the current campaign to share a photo with Reds goal makers in the dressing room.
And he shared those selfies on social media shortly after victories. But there was a remarkable omission in recent weeks after Salah did not take a photo or took a photo with Alexander -Arnold after his winning goal against Leicester in the King Power Stadium -a victory that came the side of Arne Slot closer to the Premier League title.
Three days after the game, Salah finally gave fans the photo they were waiting for. He shared a photo of him grinning alongside Alexander-Arnold apparently on the Liverpool training field.
Some Reds fans are now sure that the defender will donate a new contract on Merseyside.
A supporter said: “So it took you 3 days to upload the photo, this means that @trentaa has extended his contract for another three years”, with a different addition: “It seems that Trent has changed ideas.”
A final optimistic fan of Liverpool said, “This photo just gave me so much hope.” But not everyone is very convinced. A more pessimistic fan wrote: “His last Salah Selfie”, next to a heartache emoji.
Away from Salah, another of the Liverpool teammates from Alexander-Arnold has also shared his opinion. Virgil van Dijk insists that neither he has not practiced the graduated academy neither the rest of the team.
“I think we forget that we are dealing with a person,” said Van Dijk. “Sometimes he goes through so many moments in recent months and everyone will have an opinion about the way he has been clear. There is a lot of noise around him and of course everyone can claim if it is his own fault, [but] Nowadays it is just part of life. “
He added: “I think he was already under a lot of pressure, so it makes no sense to put him on the spot.”

And Alexander-Arnold himself refused to comment on his future after the victory in Leicester. “Look, I said the whole season that I am not going to talk about my situation,” he told Sky Sports.
“I am not going to go into details, but days like today are very special. Scoring goals, playing, winning games, being title races, these are special moments that will live with me forever and I am happy that I am part of them.”
