£53m Man City star make shock admission that he DOESN’T watch football

Matheus Nunes from Manchester City became the newest elite football player who revealed that he was not watching competitions away from work.

Nunes scored a dramatic winner of the stopping time against Aston Villa on Tuesday evening, his best moment since drawing for City of Wolves in 2023.

Pep Guardiola brings that goal closer to the qualification for the Champions League again and the manager admitted that he watched the recent knockout matches with envy.

But no nunes, who prefer to stay on Netflix when you relax in an attempt to switch off. The will of Ben White, Gareth Bale, Carlos Tevez and Benoit Assou-Ekotto have also had no problem recognizing that they have better things to do.

“I'm not really watching football,” said the Portugal International. “I just don't watch football. It's just because our daily routine is full of football.

“You know, it's the same as if you are working on a computer and going home, you don't want to go for the computer.”

Nunes, who praised Guardiola for his adaptation to the unknown role, also claimed that winning the FA Cup and reaching the Champions League would not be a successful season.

City Face Face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi -final on Sunday, looking for a third consecutive final that climbed to the third in the Premier League with four games left.

“Of course not,” he added. “We know this. The standards of the club are much higher than this. We know that these are not the norms where we want this club to be.

'Especially for the boys who have been here longer, they are always used to winning and fighting for the title.

'But this is our reality now and we have to accept it. And we just have to go for it as if it is the Champions League, the Premier League trophy.

'This is a journey, it is a roller coaster and you have to be prepared for it. We now have a different purpose than we had at the start of the season. The Champions League must now be our goal and we are going to go for it. '
