Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand name the Man City star who is ‘100%’ a Man United player because he ‘wants it’

Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand have called the Manchester City star, who was '100 percent a Man United Player' in the latest episode of the Podcast of the Last.

Giggs appeared on the podcast of Rio Ferdinand, presented by Qatar Airways, who goes live on Friday 25 April at 6 am.

The Legends of Red Devils discussed a number of topics, including current issues such as the form of Alejandro Garnacho, the best midfielders in the Premier League and how Giggs Manchester United would repair.

They also spoke about the career of Giggs, from his time as an interim boss of United, to Wales manager and his disappointment that he could not fulfill his role as a boss.

Deep in discussion about United, the two men spoke about the United States who passed, including some stars from the past. One of those stars was Angel Di Maria, who had not shown his best during his stay of a whole year in the club.

That led to talking about what is needed to be a Red Devils player, and Giggs suggested a current rival player who has the attributes needed to play for the club.

“You know, Di Maria was a united player, I felt,” said Giggs. 'But at that moment we played with a diamond, so he played on the left of a diamond.

'Or we played three at the back with two in the front, and he did not play 10. So we never really played his position, where we scouted him a bit from the right side of Madrid, or now and then from the left.

“He never really played that position. But he was a united player. '

“I loved him,” Ferdinand said, before giggs added, “It's like [Jack] Grealisch. Grealisk was a united player.

“Yes, 100 percent,” Ferdinand replied. “He has de- [he] Want it. '

Grealisk was one of the most sought after players in Europe when he signed for the city in 2021 for £ 100 million, who flourished as a captain of Aston Villa.

He went to enjoy further success in City and won the Treble two years ago, but he found playing time a little harder to get this period. Yet he is part of the city team and has also recently been successful with England, despite missing a place in the first team of Thomas Tuchel last month.

Giggs also spoke about a man who became a United star in Alejandro Garnacho. The winger has undergone a bit of a dip this year under Ruben Amorim, but may still have enough to offer.

“He is an exciting player,” said Giggs. “He likes to take risks. He likes to take on players. As soon as he gets the ball, his first thought, right, is tapping the full back, which I like.

'As Wingers, young players, you have dips. But also, what goals does he have for him? You know, I used to have a drop of 10. I used to have lost a Teddy (Sherdingham) and Eric (Cantona), a (Dwight) Yorkie or an (Andy) Coley ran on the back, a RUDD (Van Nistelrooy) who was on the back. I have always had options.

“So I had a pass in front and a pass behind. He probably has no options because there is only one center ahead. So then you have to build the relationship quickly. '
