Jamie Vardy makes decision on Premier League transfer after announcing Leicester exit

Jamie Vardy has announced that he will leave the Foxes at the end of the season after a glittering 13 -year career at the King Power Stadium – and he would like to stay in the Premier League

Jamie Vardy may be ready in Leicester City – but he looks at a Premier League Swansong. The 38-year-old ex-England International has announced that he will leave the foxes at the end of the season after a shimmering 13-year career at the King Power Stadium.

Vardy won the Premier League and FA Cup, along with 26 caps for England in a ranger-to-rich story that will probably not be repeated. But Mirror Football understands that the striker still sees himself as able to do a job in the top flight, and he is fishing to stay there.

Vardy agreed to a 12 -month deal after the elevation of Leicester under Enzo Maresca last season. However, if he put pen on paper again for the foxes, he would only attract a deal at the level of championship.

With the clock that taps – if he plays in the next term, he will do this in his 40th year – Vardy wants to squeeze what he can do from what time he has.

The attacker scored eight times in the top flight this season for Leicester, but the relegation of the club was confirmed after they just couldn't find it during the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool.

In a personal farewell to the club's media channels, Vardy said: “For the fans of Leicester, this day was here, I knew it eventually (come).

“I had 13 incredible years in this club with great success, some downs, but the majority of all the highlights. It is finally time to call it a day that I am devastated. But I think the timing is good.

“I just want to sincerely thank you as one of yours. Leicester will always have a huge place in my heart. I will ensure that I will follow in the coming years what I hope it will be even more success for the club. For now this is my farewell, but you will soon see me again.”

Vardy's rise of the fifth level of English football to its very highlight is not very remarkable. Vardy, who will make his last performance at the King Power Stadium against Ipswich on 18 May before he took Bournemouth a week later, played his role in Leicester's “Great Escape” at the end of the 2014-15 season.

His goals -he scored 11 consecutive Premier League matches -were an important factor in the 5000/1 title costs of the club, which exposed him to Champions League football, and he also took a FA Cup winner medal in 2021.
