With rumors that swallow that Manchester United is watching a new keeper, Teddy Sherdingham has made his position clear whether Liverpool's No.2 Caoimhin Kelleher should go to Old Trafford
Teddy Sherdingham has insisted that every approach of Manchester United for arch -rivals Liverpool's deputy goalkeeper Cooimhin Kelleher would be unsatisfactory. Current no. 1 in Old Trafford, Andre Onana, has played this term in the shooting line, which has recently failed for a few goals in the first leg of the Red Devils 2-2 Europa League with Lyon before he was put down for a weekend trip to Newcastle.
Rumors are now widespread that, in the summer, a replacement for the Cameroonian will be sought if Ruben Amorim is looking for his faltering side, the 14th in the Premier League, is back on track. One of the most popular goalkeepers of the Top-Flight is Kelleher van Liverpool, who looked like the expiry of Anfield last summer after a few stellar cup and competition performance as second in the command of the unwavering Alisson.
Although no deal has been completed, it now seems very likely that, in the light of the Reds that complete a deal for Valencia and Georgia star Giorgi Mhaldashvili, Kelleher will finally seal a movement to No. 1 elsewhere. However, ex-sizing Marksman Sherdingham believes that a move to Manchester would not benefit the club or the player, unless Amorim De Irishman first gets to know.
“Caoimhin Kelleher at Manchester United. I don't think that would be good for the player or the club. It would put so much pressure on his shoulders,” Sheringham told Casinohawks.
“The only way it can be a success is when Ruben Amorim got to know him personally and was able to have a close relationship with him, but without it that it would put too much pressure on his shoulders.”
Kelleher has been relatively pronounced about his prospects between the Sticks behind the current Brazilian superstar of Liverpool and ended up in September in September and admitted his wish to play every week.
“I have made it clear in recent years that I want to go a number one and week in, play out week,” said Kelleher last summer, when it probably looked like, he would leave for Anfield.
“The club has made that decision to get another keeper [Mamardashvili]And looking from the outside, it seems that they have made a decision to go in a different direction.
“Sometimes from outside it looks at that 100 percent is my decision, but sometimes it is not always in my hands. It has been reported that Liverpool has also rejected a few bids. My ambition is clear that I think I am good enough, and I want to go out and prove it.”
This season under Arne Slot, Kelleher played his role as a deputy above the par, filled in for Alisson when the Brazilian sustained a hamstring injury in October last year.
More Premier League -minutes came last month when the regular no. 1 offside was set with a concussion, and the Irishman, as usual, found enough time in cup matches -starting in the 2-1 League defeat of the Reds 2-1 League Cup by Newcastle.
But with the arrival of Mamardashvili and a desire to play consistently, Kelleher will try to leave Merseyside at the end of this campaign.
