Ipswich Town Forward Liam Delap could stay in Ipswich Town, but has clubs in line for his signature in the summer, including Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea
The striker of Ipswich Town Liam Delap could still stay on Portman Road, according to head coach Kieran McKenna. The young striker is a large scale linked to an exit in the summer with people such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle that they would stand in line for his signature.
It is assumed that Delap has a release clause of £ 30 million in his contract if the tractor boys are relegated and no shortage of voorags. The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League that previously completed championship loans in Stoke City, Preston North End and Hull City.
After he has made a relocation of £ 20 million from Manchester City, Delap scored 12 goals despite the struggles of Ipswich this period. That is four goals than every Manchester United plays in the division in 2024/25.
McKenna did not give up to have his disposal next season and noted the lack of experience of the attacker who led the forward line at the highest level. The ex-sizing coach has admitted that he believes that Delap will find success with the largest clubs in the world.
“I don't know who it would be accepted, because that is not because of me or Ipswich,” said McKenna per East Anglian Daily Times. “Liam's Focus is still here and ends the season as strong as possible.
“As I have said before, I think there is certainly a possibility that he is an Ipswich player next year. I don't think something has been decided in someone's thoughts.
“But can Liam play for the biggest clubs in the country, the largest clubs in the world? He can certainly do that. I fully believe that. He has already shown the impact he can have at Premier League level in a team that really fought for everything.
“I think he can have an excellent impact at this level. But he is also very young and he plays his first season of Premier League football. He didn't play a huge amount of minutes as a leading striker in a team and he is still learning and get better all the time.
“What is good for Liam? What is good for Ipswich? All those factors will play in the summer and the right decision will be made. But he is happy and he is developing really well here. He has it potential. I think he will do some real, really good things in his career.”
Ruben Amorim wants to supplement his forward line this summer in the Hope to sign Delap. The Red Devils also want Matheus Cunha to land on his earliest occasion.
United appears to look like activating the release clause of £ 62.5 million from Brazilian. Cunha has scored 16 goals and gave four assists this season in 31 games and played an important role for Wolves who avoided relegation.
