Legend Peter Schmeichel from Manchester United has jumped under the defense of under pressure goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian International has been in the shooting line after a series of horror errors during a non -transmitting second campaign in Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old ShotStopper criticized a few Howlers in the quarter-final first leg of the Europa League against Lyon and received one of the worst keepers in the history of the club 'through the former United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Onana was then dropped by Ruben Amorim for Altay Bayindir in their Premier League visit to Newcastle.
But the Turkish keeper was confronted with a scorching afternoon, with United collapsing for a 4-1 loss, allowing Onana an immediate return to the starting line.
United is supposed to consider options elsewhere and is linked to Kaua Santos and Lucas Chevalier van Eintracht Frankfurt.
But Schmeichel, who won five Premier League titles and the Champions League, during a spell of eight years at the club, has defended the wrestling keeper.
Asked about the bad form of Onana, the ex-sizing keeper told Talksport: “It has been a difficult year, it has been a difficult year for everyone, so choosing someone, I think that would be very, very wrong.”
'Just look at where Manchester United is in the Premier League. The players don't have the best time.
'I try to explain this to people, why is it playing different for Manchester United unlike another club?
“I recently showed this to my wife. We have a Broadsheet -newspaper in Denmark that does not have a sports section, but they still have the results of Manchester United and not just a small line, but in an article.
'If you are another club, or most other clubs, you don't have that. You do not have all the edge, non-sporting papers that report over your games and that is where the pressure is.
'Everything you do in a football game will be reported all over the world.
'As a goalkeeper, for example, if you make a mistake, everyone in the world will talk about that mistake.
'If you make a mistake for so many other clubs in the Premier League, they might be in the newspaper the next day. But you will not talk about it tomorrow or the next day.
“That is where the mental resilience of a Manchester United player comes in.”
United has passed a disappointing campaign and is in 14th place, only two points above West Ham in the 17th.
They travel to Bournemouth on Sunday before they were confronted with Athletic Bilbao in a crucial semi -final of the Europa League.
