Although much of the conversation about the game left out of football, after Real Madrid confirmed that they would be present against Barcelona for the Copa del Rey final, Carlo Ancelotti has to plot a road past Barcelona. There are doubts about Real Madrid's line-up, starting with Kylian Mbappe.
On Friday it was reported that Ferland Mendy would get the starting berth on the left, so that Carlo Ancelotti would leave an important doubt about his line-up. That is whether he had to use the 4-4-2 formation that he gave in preference earlier in the week, and whether that includes that Rodrygo Goes, who seems to be the most likely if Ancelotti wants to stack his midfield.
However, according to Diario AS and MD, Rodrygo can still have a place in the line-up. Mbappe has been given an ankle injury against Arsenal since last week, and while he returned to the training on Tuesday, it has not yet been fully recovered. Most expected him to be ready to go for the final this Saturday evening, as is the case with Mendy, but Mbappe still feels pain in his ankle and will test before the game before a decision is made.
If Mbappe does not start, Rodrygo will be in place, next to Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham in a 4-4-2. Ancelotti, however, plans to use it.
