Luis Enrique insisted that Paris Saint-Germain would be ready for their semi-final of the Champions League against Arsenal despite their first defeat of the Ligue 1 season.
PSG was beaten 3-1 on Friday by Nice, thanks to a Morgan Sanson-Brace on either side of the Fabian Ruiz strike before Youssouf Ndayishimiye packed the points.
They lost their first match in Ligue 1 since 12 May 2024, against Toulouse (W26 D6), a result that also put an end to their undefeated line of 30 games in the French top flight since the start of the season.
PSG has in fact only won one of their last four games in all competitions (D1 L2), after winning 22 of the first 24 in 2025 (D1 L1).
Luis Enrique acknowledged that his players can be hit by their form in recent weeks, but sent a rally cry for PSG to stay true to themselves.
“The players are clearly affected,” acknowledged Luis Enrique.
“I can't guarantee titles, I can't guarantee trophies, but I can guarantee that we will realize our supporters, that we will fight until the last minute in every match. I can guarantee that.
“We are the best team in France, and by far the best, as we have demonstrated the entire season.
“Everyone who wants to get rid of the boat can do this. We remain faithful to our ideas, to be courageous and to think about winning the semi -final of the Champions League.”
PSG missed a cutting edge during their defeat against Nice. In general, they had 32 shots, worth 3.16 expected goals (XG), with 13 of those on goal.
Nice, meanwhile, had seven attempts, collected 0.96 xg and scored with all three of their efforts on goal.
“We attacked in many different ways, they defended incredibly well,” Luis Enrique told Dazn about their missed opportunities.
“We would like to play the same kind of match against Arsenal and have 30 opportunities, but we have to congratulate Nice, and we will do our best to support each other.”
