Andoni Iraola says that Bournemouth will appeal against Evanilson's red card after the Brazilian striker was sent away in Sunday's draw with Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium.
Evanilson was fired in the 71st minute for a challenge at Noussair Mazraoui with Bournemouth a goal, but United fought back to rank against the 10 men.
Iraola was furious that Var referee Peter Bankes advised to turn Evanilson's yellow card into a red, and claimed that the player had slipped while he went into the tackle.
The player is now ready to miss three of the remaining four games of the Bournemouth season, and a Furious Iraola believes that it may have damaged the hope of his team to qualify for Europe.
“Of course we will appeal,” called the Bournemouth boss. “It's common sense. Everyone who has played football understands. He slides out. He does not catch him with the leg that becomes high, and the result is a red card. They are three more games without playing. The consequences for us are huge.
'In the first half, Evanilson gets a staircase in the chest by Casemiro. I don't think you should have a red card for this. But the VAR cuts the worst corner, the worst frame.
'It is very frustrating, this victory would have meant a lot to us. A point is a big difference. We are in a worse position than the start of the weekend, but we still have four games to play. Difficult games, but we are in battle.
'It is currently difficult to look in a positive way. We need a few hours. '
Antoine Semenyo, whose first half goal was canceled by Rasmus Hojlund's injury time equalizer, added: 'The goal we have admitted is so frustrating. It feels like a loss to be honest. We dominated most of the game. We went to 10 men, but I felt that we were still quite comfortable. '
