Every fire needs a spark to light it and this game set Liverpool on fire.

A colossal point. Arsenal games at the Emirates-waiting Everton to beat, and when Andy Robertson was sent away and Liverpool remained behind during the break, the chance was for the men of Mikel Arteta to take advantage.
But Liverpool grabbed a point and here showed his excellent tactical thinking, so that Ryan Gravenberch dropped from midfield in the defense to make a back four and then play five in the front in the second period.
Gakpo and Diogo Jota received the goals that secured the draw – and Arsenal were kept on a stalemate by Everton.
Brentford
January 18, 2025; Gtech stage. Won 2-0
This was perhaps the moment that the spirit of Arsenal broke. Liverpool had wasted so many chances and seemed to have taken a backward step four days after drawing in Nottingham Forest.
But in the dying minutes Darwin Nunez unexpectedly became the hero. He scored twice in stopping time and those goals were daggers to the heart of Arsenal fans.
Manchester City
February 23, 2025; Etihad Stadium. Won 2-0
Arsenal had somehow delivered to West Ham 24 hours earlier, which wasted the chance to put pressure before Liverpool went to the house of the champions.

It was a tense derby, but the winner of Jota brought a sound from Anfield of the kind that was no longer heard since the Night Barcelona was beaten 4-0 in May 2019.
It was comfort, catharsis and confirmation with one sweeping of Jota's right foot. The biggest obstacle was erased. Liverpool, everyone knew, would be champion again.
