Eric Roy set to extend stay at Brest

Eric Roy's future with Stade Brestois has been a subject of discussion throughout the season. The Frenchman has brought Brest far and the club of a relegation struggle to the UEFA Champions League in only the space of only 18 months and without any significant investment.

Despite their lean resources, Brest competes in Europe and went on to the play-off phase before having a 10-0 hammering side of Paris Saint-Germain. The form of Les Brestois in Ligue 1 was inconsistent, although they had received hope for a return to Europe until fourteen days ago. Sunday's defeat against Olympique de Marseille (3-1) put an end to that hope.

With nothing to play for, the attention is used again in the future of Roy with the club. His current contract ends at the end of the season and the Frenchman recently revealed that conversations about a renewal had resumed, although little progress had been made.

Mohamed Toubache-ter now understands that there is now progress in the direction of an extension of two years. That seems to be a tendency with the ball in the court of Roy.
