Manchester United seem to have avoided a big bullet after they had avoided the Ajax striker Brian Brobbey with former boss Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag, who declined as United Boss in October with his side in 13th place in the Premier League, is said to be the Ajax attacker in a deal of £ 34 million, according to reports in the Netherlands.
But United, who spent more than £ 600 million on transfers at the helm at the helm, can be grateful that they have avoided the Dutch striker to Old Trafford, which is now rated at just £ 8.5 million.
The 23-year-old, who played under ten Hag in Ajax, would have been the fourth signing of the former Eredivisie boss.
Earlier he brought Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Antony in, under 16 signing sessions, many who are largely disappointed, during his two -year enchantment in the Old Trafford Hot Seat.
“Ten Hag wanted to pay another € 40 million (£ 34 million) for him, now they don't even pay € 10 million (£ 8.5 million),” the Dutch journalist Valentijn Driessen told Voetbal Primeur.
The Dutchman was recently due to a Manchester movement in January and he was also supposed to be on the shortlist of the Premier League giant last summer.
Asked about the rumors, the attacker said: 'I saw it on the news, but I will stay in Amsterdam.
'I don't have contact with Erik [Ten Hag].
'We used to text via WhatsApp, but I think Erik is busy. I also have a new song. '
He also rejected a move to Old Trafford in 2022 to get to Ajax again, despite receiving a personal phone call from Ten Hag to try to convince him.
Speaking with De Telegraaf, the player said: 'Erik ten Hag called me and said that my agent would get millions of euros at United and I could earn a multiple of my Ajax salary. But our decision was clear: we wanted to go to Ajax. '
Brobbey joined Ajax's Academy of eight years old before he moved to Bundesliga Club RB Leipzig in July 2021.
He returned to Ajax and then managed by Ten Hag, on loan in December 2021.
During this loan saying he made a significant impact, as a result of which Ajax permanently signed him in July 2022 for a reported fee of £ 13.9 million.
The 2023–24 season was particularly fruitful for Brobbey, because he scored 22 goals in 43 performances in all competitions.
Despite the general struggles of Ajax that season, fifth ending in the Eredivisie, the performances of Brobbey noticed, which led to his admission to the Dutch team for Euro 2024.
However, his form has fallen this season with the striker who scored seven and contributes to five assists in 42 games in all competitions.
