Klopp congratulates Slot’s Liverpool on Premier League title win

Liverpool was congratulations on their Premier League title Triumph by their former manager Jurgen Klopp, who believes that this is just the start for the Reds of Arne Slot.

Klopp called the time on his glittering spell in Anfield last season after almost nine years at the helm, with lock to fill with large shoes when he replaced the German.

But the first Castle at the helm campaign at the helm has been a roaring success, in which Liverpool sealed their second Premier League title profit and their record-similar 20th English Top-Flight Kroon in general-by-through Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday.

With four games to play, the Liverpool title win is the earliest earliest in the era of the Premier League.

Klopp's Reds hold the record with their Triumph 2019-20 triumph with seven more games, while Manchester City in 2017-18 and Manchester United in 2000-01 both won the title with five games to play.

Slot paid tribute to his predecessor when he spoke with Liverpool TV in the aftermath of Sunday's victory, and Klopp has now gone to social media to congratulate the Reds.

He wrote on Instagram: “Super grateful for the past, super, super happy with the present, extremely positive about the future!

“Congratulations – Ynwa. Thank you Luv!”

Slot is the fifth manager who wins the Premier League title in his first season in the competition, without counting the inaugural campaign.

He follows Jose Mourinho (Chelsea, 2004-05), Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea, 2009-10), Manuel Pellegrini (Man City, 2013-14) and Antonio Conte (Chelsea, 2016-17).

So far, his team has an average of 2.41 points per match in the Premier League this campaign. Klopp was an average of 2.11 about his 334 top matches with Liverpool.

And while Klopp was confronted with the task of rebuilding the Liverpool team after taking the lead in October 2015, the Reds achieved more points in just three of his eight full seasons than the team of Slot this season-in 2021-22 (2.42), 2018-19 (2.55) and when winning the title in 2019-20).
