Poor form doesn’t define Inter, says Inzaghi

The poor recent form of Inter does not define the progress they have made in the last four years according to head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Since Inzaghi came to the club in 2021, Inter has won the 2023-24 Scudetto, the Coppa Italia titles from 2021-22-22 and 2022-23 and in 2023 Champions League-Tweede place to Manchester City.

But after losing Bologna and Roma in the Serie A, who saw them slip into the table in second place, and a defeat against Rivals AC Milan in the semi -final of Coppa Italia, their high hope in doors are in doors.

“The last week did not know the work that was done in four years,” Inzaghi said a press conference prior to their Champions League Final semi-final first stage to Barcelona.

“In the last three games we had to do better, but after four years we compete here for all the objectives, when someone had said it would be difficult to get to the top four in Italy.”

But for Inter, a draw away from their domestic problems offers an opportunity to forget their problems at home.

“We come from a bad week, but we can do it and we have to do better,” said Inzaghi.

“We are enthusiastic about the game we are going to play tomorrow against the best team in the world, the most offensive, the team that scores the most goals.

“We must have the opportunity to play with sacrifice if necessary. We will have to be technically very clean, we need many components to defeat such a strong opponent …

“They have incredible figures and have won two titles, compete for two more. We have maximum respect, but no fear … We want to play a semi-final tomorrow like a real inter.”

In Beter News for Inter, top scorer Marcus Thuram returned from injuries prior to the game in Barcelona. However, Inzaghi would not confirm whether the Frenchman would certainly occur in Spain.

“Thuram had his first training session with the team today,” he said.

'We haven't seen him since [the second leg against] Bayern Munich. He did well and gave good signals, but I have to evaluate tomorrow morning and I will talk to him again. “
