Man Utd transfers: Jonathan Tah move being explored with Bayer Leverkusen defender set to become free agent

Manchester United is actively considering a move for Germany International Jonathan Tah this summer, Sky Sports News understands.

The Defender of Bayer Leverkusen, who presented this season in more than 50 games for Club and Country, is without a contract at the end of June.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona all follow the 29-year-old, who has announced that he will continue this summer from Leverkusen.

United has now positioned itself as contenders for his signature while they want to improve their fortunes in the Premier League next season.

The chances of Real Madrid, however, can be stimulated by the expected arrival of the current Leverkusen -Baas Xabi Alonso in the Bernabéu, because the couple enjoyed a positive working relationship in the Bayarena.

Bayern would offer Tah the opportunity to stay in the Bundesliga, while the chase of Barcelona is considered complicated by continuous financial limitations that influence the registration of players.

The problems of Barcelona have caused the registration in the past – also with Dani Olmo – that expressed concern about how they could offer a deal for tah under the rules of Laliga's salary limit.

Tah confirms the departure of Leverkusen

Tah said he will leave Bayer Leverkusen as a free agent at the end of the season.

The Germany International, which was generally expected to leave this summer, confirmed its intentions to reporters after the 1-1 draw of Leverkusen with FC ST Pauli on April 20.

But the 29-year-old stopped revealing when his future would be decided before his contract ends at the end of June.

Tah, who has been free to negotiate with foreign clubs since January, said: “To be honest, I don't have a time frame. But the club knows. And it has been the same if it has been a long time.”

Bayern tried to sign him last summer, but was unable to agree with a deal with Leverkusen.
