Forrest Griffin shot from Octagon before the decision was announced

Griffin and Ortiz met for the first time in 2006 on UFC 59, and 'The Huntington Beach Bad Boy' took the split decision win.

The two light heavyweight again met three years later after Griffin lost his title of 205 pounds, and he demanded his revenge on Ortiz and won their Rematch through a split decision.

With them 1-1 after two fights it seemed inevitable that they would fight in a trilogy, especially after Griffin admitted that he would want to fight again against Ortiz.

Three years later, the two 205Lbers met for a third and recent times in the Co-Main event of UFC 148, which was led by Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen 2, in what Ortiz was last fight in the UFC.

This time, Griffin put more on the fight, won by a unanimous decision and winning a fight of the night bonus for the bloody affair.

Immediately after the fight, Griffin shot out of the Octagon to find backstage before the result was even called. UFC boss Dana White chased him and dragged him back into the cage.

And then, after he found out that he had won the fight, Griffin started the microphone of Joe Rogan and went with Ortiz himself.

Dana White about what he said to Forrest Griffin

“Everyone in this room knows exactly what I said to him, so he turned around and ran back in the ring,” explained White in the press conference after the fight.

“I met him back in the hall and said,” What are you doing? What is wrong with you? Are you mentally? ” And he said, “I was really depressed,” and I said, “The next time you are depressed about winning a fight, go back in the back and be depressed.”

“It was Tito's last night … stand there, get your hand lifted or raised Tito's hand, do your interview and go, if you get away, put it in the back.

“And if you bend for Joe Rogan's F— Job, it's not going to happen, that's Joe's task, let the microphone alone until Joe comes by and talks to you,” continued furiously.
