Viewers around the world were fascinated by the 3-3 draw on Wednesday between Barcelona and Inter in their Champions League semi-final first leg conflict. And among those to look up was Pep Guardiola, who encouraged his former club.
Prior to the Premier League match of Manchester City against Wolves on Friday (via Sport), Guardiola spoke about this week's Champions League campaign. And with regard to Barcelona, he was very proud of the way they play.
“I was surprised how beautiful the game was. Thanks to these kinds of competitions, the stadiums will never be empty and our company will grow. I can only be grateful for the two semi -final; both were excellent, especially yesterday.
“If you play as Barcelona, the stadiums will never be empty. And we will be able to live for a long time. The results do not matter; those among us who love Barcelona are very proud. And I think that Int showed again, when we have won the Champions League against them, all teams are fantastic and deserve to be there.”
Barcelona has had an incredible season so far and a lot of credit for this goes to Hansi Flick. He arrived with a lot of disorder around the club last summer, and that took most of the summer, because their financial problems meant that only Dani Olmo could be signed.
But in the end it was not pronounced, as the work film did with the existing players has been transforming. Barcelona will now hope that they can end the season with a historic Treble.
