Gilbert Burns got into a ‘wild’ street fight while protecting BJJ partner from attempted robbery

UFC star Gilbert Burns has combat scars arising from one of his only street fights.

Gilbert Burns is one of the most dangerous welter weights in the UFC, as is clear from career victories on people like Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal and Stephen Thompson. Burns also brought Kamaru Usman in early problems in his lonely welterweight Challenger at UFC 258, before he lost TKO on the third round.

Burns is known as one of the friendliest hunters outside the octhoek and one of the most wild athletes in the cage. Since the full-time switch from lightweight to welterweight has previously made in his promotional term, Burns has solidified himself as a UFC fan favorite.

Burns' toughness and ruthlessness culminated as a child in Brazil, and one of his earliest fighting almost turned into a tragic incident.

Gilbert Burns was stabbed to protect his friend in a chaotic street fight

Many MMA hunters started their fighting ambitions in non -sanctioned environments, including people like Sean Strickland and the Diaz brothers. Burns is no different and the UFC star took a crowd of robbers to defend his friend.

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Burns shared the story of the wildest street fight of his life.

“Only two street fights, only two. It was super crazy, a man put me in one of that,” Burns shared. “One of my friends is actually one of my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu partners, he now lives in Abu Dhabi. He got a fight and it was not his fault, it was actually with a man trying to rob him. But he was a little guy, Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu, so the first time I really came in the day and it was in trisvis brown

“The man hit, he was eliminated. It was a crazy fight and so big, everyone was against us, a few boys took out. Three or four … Bottles and things started flying, and it took a while, three or four minutes, but it felt so much longer than the police came in the air and then, then everything stopped, we were sweating … and I wondered.

“Put my hands on my back and there was blood everywhere,” Burns continued. “I was put on my back a few times during that fight … but the adrenaline was so high that I didn't feel it … I still have serious scars, five or six large scars, straight on my back.”

Fortunately for Burns, he had no long -term health problems as a result of the street fight earlier in his life. If the worst-case scenario had happened, UFC fans would not be treated to his electric style and highlights.

Gilbert Burns snubbeld as the toughest UFC opposite of Khamzat Chimaev

Although the career of Burns is remarkable, he is also known to give the unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev, demonstrably the most difficult test of his career at UFC 273. But Chimaev believes a different by name and no burns, his most difficult puzzle to solve.

Burns and Chimaev treated fans to one of the biggest leftovers of the Welterweight Division at UFC 273, where Chimaev ran away with a meticulous unanimous decision. One fight later, Chimaev made the full -time switch to the middleweight division and is the next one in line for a title shot.

While Burns is preparing for the unbeaten Michael Morales later this month, he remains one of the most dangerous contenders of Welterweight. With his back against the wall, Burns will look to turn the clock back and go back to the title mix.
