Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Lucas Bergvall will miss the rest of the season and admitted that James Maddison's knee injury is a reason for concern.
Maddison will undergo scans after limping the 3-1 victory of Tottenham in the first stage of the semi-final of the Europa League against Bodo/Glimt of Norway on Thursday.
Bergvall, 19, who signed a new Spurs contract earlier in the week that he was to the club until 2031, only damaged ligaments in a harmless incident course prior to the same competition.
“The injury is probably important enough to keep him out for the rest of the season,” said Postecoglou.
“It wasn't a tackle, he was alone, he just turned around and only gave his ankle away, so it's just one of those things. I have no doubt that he will come back stronger. '
The Spurs boss was more positive about Dominic Solanke, who also came out against Bodo and felt a tweak in a thigh muscle.
“Stupid is not too bad, still painfully last night, but we don't think it's a bit too serious,” said Postecoglou, who promised changes in West Ham on Sunday, with the second stage of the semi -final only four days later.
“We will make changes,” he said. 'We want to make a strong performance, some players also rest and also inform players, because who knows who we need for next Thursday evening.
'There is no doubt that you make seven, eight or nine changes that I make, that has an effect on the team in the Premier League because you usually play against teams that are equipped and arranged, and it is a huge question, but I think it is necessary.
“Unfortunately it is painful, but hopefully we can reap the benefits.”
