Arteta suggests that 15-year-old academy star could rival Martin Odegaard

Mikel Arteta suggested that the 15-year-old Wonderkid Max Dowman is in his Arsenal Squad plans for next season and could compete with Martin Odegaard for the attacking midfield place.

Dowman has long been advertised as the next large star of the Gunners to break through the academy after they have skipped age groups for fun and are heavily involved in the first team training in this campaign.

In December the teenager became the youngest Arsenal player ever who played for the Under 21s, who came from the bank to face Brighton, just 14 years old. He recently scored 10 goals in his last four games for the under the 18S.

It follows Downman training with the first team on a regular basis and will be brought in the middle of the season in Dubai in February in the middle season.

Odegaard has recently confronted a lot of control after a decrease in execution, his ankle injury sustained a potential contributing factor in September.

Prior to the Premier League match of Arsenal to Bournemouth on Saturday, Arteta said: 'We have many options there (in the attacks of midfield). I mean, (Mikel) Merino can play in that position, Declan (Rice), we have Ethan (Nwaneri) there, that is his main position.

'We have players who can play in that position, we also have Max (Dowman), as you know, very quickly. So I think we are good in that position. '

About or Dowman is processed in plans for the team of the following season, Arteta added: 'For the near future, yes. Let's see how this evolves, but we certainly have a great, great talent there. '
