Pep Guardiola has spoken about his future in Manchester City in the midst of speculation that he may not see his contract with the club.
Guardiola signed a new deal in November that runs until 2027, but perhaps experienced his most difficult season in the city since he came to the club nine years ago.
He was quoted this week by ESPN Brazil and said he will take a break when he leaves the city, which raised some questions about whether he has already got one foot out.
But Guardiola has insisted that this is not the case.
Speaking for the Premier League collision from his side with Wolves tonight, Guardiola told Sky Sports: “I didn't say that I was leaving now or at the end of the season.”
'If they fire me, yes (I'll leave)! I said, when I finish my time here, a year, two years, three years, four, five, six, I don't know … I will take a break. I am not retired, but I will definitely take a break. '
Guardiola was denied that he could go through City in the near future, was then asked if he could even extend his stay by signing another contract.
The Spanish boss was without obligation on this occasion, so he was clear that he did not want to look too far ahead.
“In football, a two -year contract for a manager, it is an eternity,” he added.
“What I say, when I'm done here, I'll take a break.”
Sky Sports Pundit and former city substitute Michards were pleased here that Guardiola will not go anywhere and joked that he would have to sign a 10 -year contract.
A smiling Guardiola quickly closed that idea and replied, “It won't happen!”
