Bergvall to miss the rest of Spurs’ season, Postecoglou confirms

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham -midfielder Lucas Bergvall will miss the rest of their season after damaging his single nigguents.

Bergvall was absent in the MatchDay team for the 3-1 victory against Bodo/shines on Thursday after retaining the issue prior to the first stage of their semi-final of the Europa League.

Bergvall has made 45 performances for the Postecoglou team in all competitions, scored one goal and registers four assists.

“Lucas, it seems that the injury is important to keep him out for the rest of the season. He adjusted the ligaments in his ankle,” Postecoglou told reporters on Thursday.

When asked how the injury took place during the training, Postecoglou added: “It was not a tackle, he started to turn around and his ankle made way. These are things that happen.

“He is extremely disappointed and there is not much that you can say. Every experience in life and football makes you stronger. He has an incredible career for him.

“It denied him the chance to play in a big game last night. He will come back stronger. Every player has to go through setbacks.”
