Lautaro Martinez will miss the Serie A-Meeting of Inter's series on Saturday on Saturday and can also be the second stage of the Champions League from their semi-final stage.
Inter confirmed that Martinez sustained a dijing injury on Friday, after he was picked up during their 3-3 draw with Barcelona in the first stage on Wednesday.
The Argentina International is not expected to be outside for a long period of time, where Sky Sport Italia reports that he could only be out for about a week.
“Lautaro Martinez had various clinical and instrumental investigations this morning at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano,” Inter said in a statement.
“It turned out that the Argentinian attacker has an extension of the flexors muscles in his left thigh. His circumstances will be assessed every day.”
In the three Serie A matches that Martinez did not play this season, Inter has a 100% winning record (three games), in which the team manages nine goals in those victories without him.
The Nerazzurri enters the game with Verona who lost their last two league games against Roma and Bologna without scoring. They have not lost three consecutive Series A matches since April 2023.
In all competitions they are Winless in five trips (three drawn, lost two), because they have also been beaten out of the Coppa Italia in recent weeks.
April and May are the two months in which the teams of Simone Inzaghi have been historically suffered in the Serie A (12 in every month).
However, they have defeated Verona 41 times in the Serie A, and their opponents have never defeated them in San Siro.
The Nerazzurri are in second place in the Serie A, three points behind leaders Napoli, who could open the gap to six points before Inter against Verona starts.
